Not a very good close up, but The Shepherd has this bright yellow forsythia blooming in the greenhouse right now.
He has spent the past couple of days root pruning and cleaning pots, getting everything ready to move out to the benches in the garden.
A pretty pine with a very gnarled trunk.
I'm fascinated by the lichens that grow on some of the plants - they are about the size of a straight pin.
Or smaller...
This little weeping larch has the most intriguing looking little cones, and when the needles first come out, they are as soft as they can be.
He moved this out of the greenhouse onto our front porch this afternoon. I always say -" Some people re-arrange their furniture. The Shepherd re-arranges his plants..."

I am so envious that you can have bonsai outside there. We're just too cold.
At least you always know where the Shepherd is: the barn, the greenhouse, or doing something at church. :) Keeps him off the streets, doesn't it? ;-)
How's your back?
My Father in Law was adept at bonsai and instilled in me the fascination. I learned quickly that I didn't have the patience but have continued to appreciate the art form. Lovely.
i love to see how your garden grows and all the lovely things that the Shepherd can do to trees. Just amazing!
Really enjoyed your shots, especially of the bonsai and the lichens!
Oh the tiny lichen are so magical...I love those too but don't have them so abundantly here in the desert. The shepherds bonsai trees are stunning and I wish I had some. I dabbled in them a bit when I was in Germany and should make another...
The ram lambs are so cute...guys are just taking over aren't they!
I hope you are feeling better with your back by nom.
Our Easter was glorious. We had 2 services and an evening drama musical starring yours truely and the Lapdaddy...
Now we can concentrate on our dear old girl Tuesday. I bathed her this evening and she has had her dinner...thank you for your prayers and special thoughts to help us along this path...
Love us at the cozy cottage
