The end of the season.

All that's left in the garden are the butternut squashes.  They are a mini variety, just the right size for dinner for two.

It just seems that every day gets more colorful in our yard. The Glory of Spring has taken over the bed by our gate and provides a carpet of blue.  So pretty, and so welcome after our long winter.

Hey Effurrybody! It's Caturday!!

Hello Effurrybody & Effurrykitty!

It's Caturday!  And it's cooooold and raining dogs outside!  So, as you can see, all these pictures were taken LAST Caturday, but Mummy didn't get a chance to sit down at the 'puter and put them on for you til now. 

We hope that you had a good Howloweenie -  Mummy's party at work went really well and everyone had a good time.









Georgie & I both had good sand baths last week while the sand was dry.  If we tried it today we'd be a muddy mess that even Georgie wouldn't like. 








The Shepherd put Elliott in with his girls last Saturday.  He moved Elliott and Frosty into the girls barn, because there is more room for everyone in there.

Here he was making googly eyes at Mummy - she says his furs are very soft.  The Shepherd says he has been very respectful and has not tried any funny stuff when he has taken the snacks in for breakfast and dinner. 





Everyone wasn't quite sure of what to make of this slobbery boy - actually Violet chased HIM around for a while, but then things settled down.  Mummy says if everybody has babies we'll have 10 more sheepies around here next spring.

Now, that ought to be interesting!!!

The leaves are almost gone from the trees today, with all the wind and the rain that we have had.  But last week they were very pretty - these are on the coral bark maple.

Why I didn't get my shower this morning...

This is the hose bib out by the barn (where it connects to the under ground water line).  It had been running at a trickle, and when you have 8 sheep and a plant nursery to provide water for, a trickle just doesn't make it.  So The Shepherd decided that since he had the day off (Labor Day) that he would use it to labor and replace the darn thing.

Unfortunately one of the parts cracked when he was digging it up and he had to turn off the water to the whole place and run into town - the part that cracked was the only part he didn't have extra of! Thank goodness Home Depot wasn't closed for labor day!!

Darn - I had forgotten that he was going to do that - and that's what I get for sleeping in...

Of course he had no lack of supervision. 

"Do you need me to jump down there and check things out???" 

Looked like too much work for Gracie...

Bella & Gracie had a solution to my "no shower" woes. 

"There's nothing better than a good dust bath, Mummy"

Roll this way and that, and then do a few lickety lick licks.

You'll never know you missed that shower.  

"Yeah, right,  Fresh as a daisy..."
