Mancat Monday Report

Hello Everybody and EveryKitty!

George here with a report of the comings and goings on the farm.

Can you see me?  I think I can almost hide right in plain sight - especially from Mummy -

Eeek - what is that up in the sky - Oh, sorry - it's the sun - We don't see it very often, and I forget what it looks like.

So The Shepherd had the V.E.T. out for the Vishus Sheeps yesterday.  They needed shots and (gasp) two of the little boy sheeps got (ahem) "fixed"!

They didn't fix this one though.  His name is Mac - although Mummy calls him Makks - I heard her say that he is the apple of The Shepherd's eye - I don't think he looks like an apple, do you?  But his mamma doesn't look like she should be messed with, huh?

Dr. Amber has been out to see our Vishus Sheepes  many times. The Shepherd was pleased because she said that the health of all of his Vishus Sheeps looked very good.

I heard Mummy say that she is a very nice lady and really knows a LOT about sheeps and goats (whatever that is).  I hid from Dr. Amber, because she is a V.E.T. and you just can't trust those people, you know...

She left after Mummy and The Shepherd showed her a bunch of sheeps furs and yarns.

Then I could come out and relax into the sun puddles on the front porch.

Check out the little movie that Mummy made while the V.E.T. was looking at the sheep.  She said the sheeps kept stepping on her feet while they were running around.  See!  I told you they were vishus.  Enjoy your holiday and have a great day!  XOX  George

Thursday Noos

Hello everybodies -

Gracie your Roving Reporter here to say "Happy Almost the Weekend when Mummy will be home all day on Saturday to play with us day".

Anne Marie, the V.E.T. came out on Toesday to stick us with more needles. She forgot part of her stuff though, so she has to come back again. Mummy tricked us and closed the door on the family room when we came in to have dinner so we would be inside when the V.E.T. came. I don't think that was very nice, do you?

I have some more 'citing noos, but I can't tell you yet - maybe this weekend...

Meanwhile, please enjoy one of The Shepherd's pretty flowers while you wait.

Your roving reporter,

Gracie

Farm Report

Hi - my name is Vern and I'm feeling a little cranky because The Shepherd and The Food Lady have me all tied up so I can't bash on my brother.

It always makes me nervous when they put me on this leash and tie me up - it either means I'm going to get stuck full of holes by the V.E.T. or shaved naked by somebody with loud clippers.

We know what you mean Vern - the minute that barn door bangs shut, we know we're in for something -

Well, this time it was Dr. Amber - to "stick them full of holes" - and do a "well sheep" visit. Here she's checking out Little Eva's "tum-tum" - hmm - maybe you need to lose a few pounds there Eva...

The V.E.T. came out the same day that I picked up the Mrreows, but I haven't had time to show you the pictures yet.

Don't worry girls - it will all be over soon and you'll get to go back out to the pasture.

Plus we get to look at everyone's fleece - this is Wendy. It is a soft and lustrous fleece.

Don't they just have the cutest little ears?

The Shepherd likes to have Dr. Amber come out and see the sheep when they are not in a "sick or stressful situation" so she knows how they are "supposed" to look.

OK everyone- Dr. Amber has given you a clean bill of health - you are free to go.

Never a dull moment -

Well things have quieted down in the little boy's pasture - now the concern has been for Jewell. Last week The Shepherd noticed that she was having trouble with "urine elimination" - she would squat, but nothing would come out (been there, done that!). So after talking to the V.E.T. (we'll spell it out so any kitties reading my blog don't get frightened) they decided that she probably had a urinary tract infection and the rest of the penecillin that had been going to Buddy for his "injury" now went to Jewell. The problem was, even after 5 days of penecillin, she wasn't getting any better!

Saturday morning, he loaded her up in the trailer and off they went to Lynden (about 35 miles) to the V.E.T. - they did tests, did an ultrasound, gave her IV fluids (she was dehydrated) and changed her medicine, including some pain meds. This a.m. was three days and things had not appreciably changed! So off they went to Lynden this a.m. (Remember that we are leaving Thursday for the Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene, Oregon, so we kind of had to get this resolved!)

Well, today, they did more tests, and finally decided that she had passed a kidney stone. Ouch - no wonder she was grinding her teeth! The V.E.T. said she could go a couple of days between shots now since the blockage seems to have passed, so we are OK and our poor house/farm sitter will only have to deal with Neelix's medicine. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
