Pardon my rant......

Ok, there are a few things that have been driving me crazy - some for a while - some are new objects of craziness -

  • People who wear their Bluetooth headsets ALL THE TIME - in meetings, or while they are talking to me, or, just in general... Do they think it makes them look cool? No, I think it makes them look RUDE. Like I am just not quite as important as a phone call they MIGHT get on their cell phone. (What did we do before we had cell phones anyhow? My sister saw an article the other day that more and more students are starting to use the food banks - Why? Because with the high price of gasoline, by the time they pay their rent and their cell phone bills, they have no money left over. Do you suppose any of them ever thought of cutting back on the texting?)
  • What is the big deal with dissing Crocs? Now, some guy in Newsweek has a big article out about how much he hates Crocs. So, don't wear them, for cryin' out loud. Crocs are the only shoes that a lot of people can wear, myself included. Who died and made him the fashion police?
  • People who leave rude comments on the "online articles" in our local newspaper. Last week there was an article about a young man who was killed on the freeway. Come to find out he was under the influence of drugs. Sad but true, a fellow whose family loved him despite his shortcomings, who had tried and failed to get clean and sober. What good are saying things like "Good riddance to bad rubbish" when a guy has died a pretty horrible death and a family is grieving? Will their Karma go bad? I hope so.

Ok, I'm done now.

Geeze, who put a nickle in her?

Agree with your point on bluetooth headsets, no one is important enough to need to wear one 24/7.

Great defense on Crocs. I personally love the shoes and it really irritates me when I read blogs by people who are wildly misinformed bashing the shoes. They are great, and the people making fun of people who wear Crocs are deeply insecure. It's a bandwagon mentality and once someone starts badmouthing the product the sheep chime in. I didn't see anywhere in that Newsweek article the fact that Crocs HELP people, and have been approved by the Medicare and Medicaid for diabetics, such as myself. There is nothing wrong with the way they look either.

People who write rude comments online are the same people who make fun of others for wearing Crocs. Deeply angry and insecure, they are out to judge others from their digital facade, like an anonymous crusade. Who cares about them?

I understand completely! Cell phone users are one of my biggest pet peeves. I mean who wants to hear all the nitty gritty details of the person's life, yelled at the top of their lungs, in the middle of a store. Ugh... Or even worse, a restaurant, library or bookstore. Honestly I didn't even know there was a 'croc' until I accidentally saw that article you mentioned. It's like who cares! To each his own, and whatever is comfortable, I say go for it. I always knew I'd get 'old', but I really didn't think it would happen so young. ha...

All I can say is: Amen!

And I will add the people who have cell phones glued to their ears (the ones without the "Tooth"). It is so rude to treat checkers and clerks like they aren't there, which is what people on cells do. It's a good thing I don't work in one of those jobs as I would refuse to serve anyone not paying attention to what they are doing.

I agree with pretty much everything you have said, except for one little detail. That is the college students on food stamps. I never used food stamps myself, but it was pretty well known that if you qualified for financial aid then you could qualify for food stamps. I am sure it isn't that many more people that need them, but that many more people that are taking advantage because they can. Maybe they are just using the extra money to text? =)
