And this is...

a hops plant - commonly used in the making of beer.

It also grows like the dickens and makes a nice shady arbor at the end of the greenhouse

These are resurrection lilies or sometimes called "naked ladies" because the leaves come up and die down, the pop, up comes the flower. I took this picture a couple of years ago down in Oregon - there were huge clumps of them all over this little town. I've planted them in our garden, & I've gotten the leaves, but never the flower stock. Sigh - maybe someday...

We got about 1/3 of an inch of rain this afternoon. It is welcome.
Have a nice weekend

Is that your very own hops plant? Hops is also good as a sleep aid to help one relax and is used in herbal formulae for nervous conditions. Have a good trip and a nice weekend!

Was the drumcarder a good one? I hope that you had great success and found a perfect one!

Not being familiar with the making of beer, I didn't know what a hops plant looked like. I hace been seeing them all over Washington but didn't know what they were. Thanks for the information and the beautiful pictures.

We have hops here, too. Colin loves for me to pick leaves for him and the boys keep the plants along the pasture pretty well "trimmed". :)

I've seen hops growing in Eastern Washington but never thought of them as a practical ornamental. Wish they would grow here!!
