Sometimes life just ain't fair...

The phone rang at 6:30 yesterday a.m. - I hate it when the phone rings at 6:30 in the morning, generally the news is not good - and it wasn't - it was my oldest sister, Wisten, and she was calling to tell me that our sister Merrill's husband James had been taken to the hospital - he had gone to the Dr. on Monday because he wasn't feeling well and they sent him straight to the hospital - "They say he has cancer" she told me.
"They would be doing more tests today. "

I talked with Merrill tonight - my brother-in-law has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Please hold him in your hearts and prayers. He will have surgery tomorrow (Thurs. May 10) at Yakima Memorial Hospital.

Thank you.

I wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Take courage as well. Eighteen years ago my 4 yeaar old niece was diagnosed with T-Cell leukemia. T-Cell invades the brain and spinal cord as well as the bloodstream so a bone marrow transplant is not an option. The doctor told my sister and her husband that Kelly's chances were very poor. They refused to give up and enlisted the help of family and the best medical doctors they could find. There was agressive chemotherapy and radiaion, prayers and tears. Last month, Kelly graduated from college and this month she will celebrate her 22 birthday. Miricles occurred then and can occur again. I'll be thinking of you.

Prayers definitely. Your family has really had its share, but miracles really do happen.
