How about the base of a colored Swiss Chard?
There *is* red celery now. I've seen it in a seed catalog.

Yup, you are right, it's RED celery - they have it at Haggen - it came it pretty expensive, but now they have it at $2/bunch - I don't know how, but it is a little milder but has a real celery flavor - it's fun for a vegi tray, except I had to lable it because everyone thought it was rhubarb! T.

We've never seen red celery before.
Yes! Red Celery! We got some from Haggen's, too. It didn't last very long, but tasted great!
I've never heard of red celery, how fun. I'm hoping to expand my garden plantings this year to try some new and fancy things.
