It's Time -

Sinda
April 21, 1990 - February 5, 2011

Sadly, Sinda's health and spirit have plummeted in the past week. I made one of the hardest decisions in my life yesterday as I called my friend who has a mobile veterinary service to arrange for her to come out this afternoon and help Sinda cross over the Bridge.

I was thinking of the words to Jim Croce's song "Time in a Bottle" this morning

"If I could save time in a bottle, The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day Till Eternity passes away Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever, If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then Again, I would spend them with you"

Sinda has been my companion for almost 21 years - I can't imagine life without her - I will be catless for the first time in 35 years.

You can read about her birthday last year by clicking here
or click on "Sinda" under labels to see more.

Hold your loved ones close today and Thank you for your kind thoughts. T.

Tina, it was a year ago we lost our Ziggy...I so know how hard this is for you.
Although I never met Sinda in purrson, I felt as though I came to know her well through our chats and your blog.
I know that in time you will remember the better times with Sinda and just how much she loves you.
And I know Neelix will be there to meet her as she crosses the Bridge.
With all my heart, Kathy

Dear Tina, my heart goes out to you today; I understand much too well the grief of losing such a dear friend.

But even though you will only see her beautiful body in your mind's eye, I am sure that Sinda will never leave you. You and she are part of each other; that will never change.

To love her enough to let her go is truly a testament of how much she meant to you. For to end her suffering is to magnify yours, a thousandfold!

My heart goes out to you Tina. How kind to have the vet come to your house so that Sinda could step onto the Rainbow Bridge from the comfort of her own home.

How I wish that we could do for our human loved ones that which we do with love and much sadness for our beloved animal friends.

Let yourself cry. This was a HUGE loss!

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

Oh dearest Tina and Shepard....our hearts are so so sad for you right now. No words can help right now...only tears and memories will ease the pain of loss. It is the price we have to pay in the end for LOVE...you both loved each other for a lifetime. How glorious that gift was...
Sinda's shadow will follow the Shepard on his rounds of the flower beds...and on HIS rounds of the Heavens...
Be hugged and know how much we care for you. I thank Kathy for letting me know about your loss...she is a dearest friend to you....

My heart aches for you, as it IS a very hard decision.

But take peace in the fact that it's one way where animals are treated better than humans. It's the most unselfish act we can ever do for our furbabies, to send them on their way to the bridge.

Imagine the alternative, and you'll know you made the right decision.

You'll miss Sinda, but she's in no pain at all where she is.

There's a poem on this post, that I hope gives you some peace.

My dear Tina, in the year 2010 we lost two dogs that were important to our lives. They gave us love, companionship and entertainment.
I smile when I think of Rosey and Sammy waiting at the gate for sweet little Sinda.
My heart goes out to you both.

I'm so sorry. Even when they are very old, and have had a good life, it is still so hard to send them on without us.

Oh Tina, I was so saddened to hear of this when we got back from our weekend! I have never had the privilege of sharing my life for that long with any four-legged creature, but know how my heart has been broken after shorter "love affairs." They leave such huge holes in our lives.... ((((HUGS))))

Tina, I am so, so sorry. Gosh, 21 years. That leaves a big empty place in your heart and in your life, I know. I know Rascal was waiting on the other side of the Bridge too. Hugs to you.
